13 Years of Solidarity and International Cooperation: Happy Anniversary, COOPI Suisse!

On May 3rd, COOPI Suisse celebrated 13 years of humanitarian commitment and international cooperation. Founded as part of the COOPI network, over the years we have continuously expanded our activities, providing concrete support to the world’s most vulnerable populations.

In these 13 years, we have implemented 63 projects in 19 countries, reaching over 384,000 direct beneficiaries and 2,400,000 indirect beneficiaries around the world—bringing food, water, medical care, psychological support, employment opportunities, education, and training.

This unwavering commitment has extended from Latin America to Africa and the Middle East, reaching countries such as Haiti, Venezuela, Guatemala, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Sudan, and Syria. And it continues today, wherever help is most needed.

Since its founding, COOPI Suisse has followed a path marked by many important milestones: first, recognition as a Public Utility Entity, then the opening of our operational office in Lugano in 2013, and our membership in the Federation of NGOs of Italian-speaking Switzerland (FOSIT) in 2015. In 2019, we achieved the Zewo quality label—an important guarantee of transparency and reliability for our donors.

But above all, we think of the projects—those that have allowed men, women, and children who had lost everything to find hope again and change the course of their lives. Projects made possible thanks to your invaluable support.

Today, the context in which we operate is increasingly complex and hostile. The global situation constantly confronts us with wars and humanitarian emergencies with devastating consequences. That is why this anniversary must not be seen as a final goal, but rather as another step in a long journey of solidarity and cooperation.

So, let us celebrate this special anniversary by looking ahead and reminding ourselves that together, we can change history!
