Education in Emergencies: school access for the most vulnerable children in the district of Mosul, Iraq

Together with the COOPI Foundation, COOPI Suisse decided to contribute to the already existing project “Education in Emergencies: school access for the most vulnerable children in the district of Mosul, Iraq” allowing 1.200 children to resume their education despite living in an area of conflict.

This initiative aims to ensure the installation of container schools and the distribution of school supplies in the sub-district of Qayyara, an area recently freed from the terrorist group ISIS. Schools will be provided with appropriate sanitary services and all the necessary school supplies will be put at disposal: desks, chairs, blackboards and anything else you will need to return to a standard school system.

Direct beneficiaries of the project: 3.750 children, 50 teachers

Indirect beneficiaries of the project: The children’s families, or 22.500 people

Cost: The budget amounts to 61.215,00 USD, funded by a private donor

Period: June 1, 2018 – March 31, 2019
