A difficult environment, a complex political situation and low economic growth makes children in Chad a vulnerable category whose rights are systematically violated.
The capital, N’Djamena, where the project took place, is becoming an overcrowded city, compared to the basic services available and accessible to the population. In recent years, the city has become the destination of a flow of children from rural areas, who become potential victims of trafficking and / or multiple violations, affecting mostly children without civil status, without a family, in conflict with the law and / or victims of the worst forms of work.
The intervention involved the integration of 200 unaccompanied minors in childcare facilities. These facilities were also supported in strengthening the management and the sharing of data on minors in N’Djamena. This contributed to create a network which covers the whole territory and monitors the phenomenon.
